@nicks — it’s great to hear that you’re passionate about becoming a pilot.
To clarify, if you are planning to pursue a traditional Commercial Pilot License (CPL) program at a flight school, such as Florida Flyers Academy or any other abroad, there is typically no selection process involved. You simply enroll, pay the required fees, and begin your training. Your school background — whether it’s a dummy school or a traditional one — generally does not affect your chances of getting into such programs, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria and have the necessary documentation.
However, if you’re aiming for a cadet pilot program, which is usually offered in partnership with airlines, then the process is different. Cadet programs do involve a formal selection process, including assessments, interviews, and sometimes aptitude or psychometric testing. In such cases, while your school and academic background may be reviewed, what truly matters is your performance during the selection stages.
In short, for traditional CPL training, your school doesn’t impact your chances. For cadet programs, it’s your skills, aptitude, and performance that count far more than where you studied.
Wishing you the very best in your journey to becoming a pilot!
